The
SRV8 was designed in the 1980s and was considered one of the very
best replicas ever, the same is true today. The protection afforded
by the footwells and rear side impact bars makes it not only safe
but very stiff which is essential for good handling and roadholding.
Since acquiring the project Madgwick Cars has made a few improvements
to the design to make it even more of a pleasure to drive. A unique
feature of this car is the option of power steering making it user
friendly to everyone.
A Cobra replica with a pedigree the SRV8 has one of the stiffest, safest chassis available making it a pleasure to drive and a valuable asset.Just ask the many hundreds of previous customers.

| Chassis - Constructed of 75 x 50 x 3.2 mm converging main members together with 50 x 50 x 3.2 mm section perimeter with 25 x 25 x 1.6 mm semi frame super structure. All footwells, floor pan and transmission tunnel are mild steel panelled. All mounting points are provided on the chassis and additional steel framework is supplied where required. | |
| Body - Comprises a one piece GRP unit with a lay up specification of approx. 1350 g/sq.metre with additional reinforcement where required. | |
| Engine & Transmission - Designed primarily to use the Ford 302 and 351 Windsor, 350 Chevrolet and Rover 3.5. Manual gearbox options are plentiful including Borg Warner T5, Tremac, Rover and some automatic gearboxes. | |
| Suspension - Jaguar front and rear suspensions from the series 2/3 XJ6/J12 1974 onwards. Wishbone and driveshaft shortening is required but this actually strengthens the rear drive shafts enabling a higher power output while allowing a deeper dished rear wheel to be fitted to enhance appearance. | |
| Steering - Rack and pinion coupled to Jaguar series 2/3 XJ6 steering column via Madgwick steering linkage kit. | |
